Keeping healthy

The OLV Media team have been thinking about healthy lifestyles. Here’s the teams quick guide to keeping healthy.

Keeping healthy is very important. If you do not think about keeping healthy then things can become very difficult. If you want to keep fit and healthy then use these facts they will be very useful. To keep fit this is what you need to do.

DIET

Sometimes it is very hard to control on your diet because where ever you go there is lovely food being prepared. I know we have to eat to get our bodies going. When we choose something to eat it is always unhealthy food like burgers, wraps and other fried things. However we need to provide healthy food for our body to keep on track. I am not saying don’t eat fried food but don’t eat it all the time.

EXERCISE

The other key is…..exercise. You do not have to go to the gym or do anything like that, but you must do some!

Are we drinking enough water? A special report.

Tuesday the 22nd of June saw record temperatures in the OLV playground (reaching 22 degrees) and big queues at the water fountain.  We asked if children are drinking enough water to keep healthy?

We sent our reporters out to see how much water the children are drinking.

Surpisingly we discovered that children don’t drink enough water a day, only a small number of children used the water fountain while we were there.

Doctors and teachers recommend that you should drink at least 1.2 litres a day – more in warm weather. (That’s about 8 glasses of water a day!) This could be pure water or orange juice, but is coca cola good enough?  Mrs Jessop says, “you need to drink about 1 to 2 litres of water and juice but no fizzy drinks . ” .
