On Wednesday 4th July Year 3 went to The Forbidden Corner. It was quite a long journey which was broken up by a visit to Middleham Castle on the way. This is a recount of the visit by two members of the media team.
On the way we stopped at Middleham Castle. Mr Devlin told us about Richard III who had once lived there. He drowned his own brother in wine and he suffocated his own two nephews who were supposed to be king. He killed them all so that he could declare himself king.
After that we carried on to The Forbidden Corner. The first thing we did when we arrived was have our lunch.
In the afternoon we got a card with riddles on. In my group was Mrs Allen, Iqraah, Iqra, Maryam, Isha and me of course!
Here is one of the riddles from my card: Repulsive dwarf, deformed and all emerges from beneath the wall. Eyes of red scales of blue. Look closely enough he may surprise you!
After that we entered a huge, gigantic, enormous mouth. We punched a soft palate and it burped! Everyone started to laugh, even Mrs Allen, and the other teachers laughed too!
Then we followed a path and saw a pretend boy having a pee we had to run past and try not get wet. Then Mr Devlin warned us that, “you’ll see the ugliest person in the world in a moment!”
Then everyone looked at where he was pointing. It was a mirror. Then everyone said, “it’s yourself!” Then he started to laugh.
After this there was a junction. We had two paths to choose from. The first one we chose was a dead end. We then went back and tried the second path. as we went up the path we saw a big electric machine. As we got close to it lots of purple smoke came out of it and all of us screamed.
We saw lots of other things at The Forbidden Corner. This included silly tombstones.
We all had a very good time on our trip.
