On Sunday 24th June the Olympic torch relay travelled through Keighley. There were at least two thousand lining the streets as the torch came along North Street. A large number of OLV pupils were in the crowd.
Ryan recalls the experience:
“I was suprised that the Olympic Torch was coming to Keighley. I’ll probably never get the chance to see it again so I made a point of going into town to see it. It was a really good day and there were lots of music and stalls there.”
We tried to get some video of the torch but weren’t tall enough to get a decent shot. Luckily Mr Moorhouse is really tall and he was able to reach over the top of the crowd. Its a fairly wobbly video as he was having to stretch but watch below if you want to see the torch as it passes St Anne’s Church.

To see the torch being handed over to the next carrier watch the video below, which is again quite wobbly!
